MPGIS Based Story

Dad was upset, I could tell. He had been quiet all during supper and I just knew that he knew about Mom's new job. I understood why she had not told him about it yet; it was working for his father at some advertisement agency and we both knew how much my dad hated his. He looked like he was about to say something so I quickly excused myself from the table and walked into the kitchen, where I could watch the scene about to play out in front of me.

"Who is he?" My father asked. To which my mom looked down and smiled. I think she thought that he was joking but by the look on his face, he was dead serious.

"What? You actually think I'm cheating on you?" She responded with a hint of distrust in her voice. I didn't blame her; my parents' marriage is solid, nothing could break it. I hoped.

"Then why did you lie yesterday? You told me you were going out with Trisha. But when I saw your phone was at home I called her to check up on you. She said you weren't with her." He breathed. I could tell he was getting frustrated and so did my mom. When she moved her hand across the table he whipped his away. "If you weren't with Trisha where were you? Hmm? Where were you?" He asked, speaking louder the second time.

"I was at work" Saison, my mom, replied calmly. "I was at work" she sighed. Standing up she smiled weakly at me and turned back the Blaine, my father. We were a really weird family. My mom claims that she is from France but everyone knows that she's really from Montreal. My dad on the other hand was far from calm.

"I thought you got fired?" My dad can be a little stupid sometimes so I wouldn't put it past him if my mom had to explain it to him in black and white.

"I got a new job Blaine. I'm working for your father" she said in a whisper. I knew she didn't want to tell him this; we both knew it could be the one thing that could ruin their marriage.

"My father? Why? Couldn't you have found a different job!" He yelled. He doesn't yell often so when he does, you know he's mad. My mother and I both jumped back a little.

"He offered it and it's good money. I figured it would be, how do you say, fine." There she goes. My mom has a tendency to say "how do you say" and then say the word she needs to say. It's a little frustrating sometimes.

"I see" Was all my dad said before he walked towards the door and left, leaving my mom and me alone in the house. He came back the next morning and said that he'd thought about it and agreed it was worth it, after all, we needed the money.
